AdNav® - adding the immersive experience

AdNav® (patent pending number GB 0505362.4) is an intuitive control system for navigating in virtual worlds, for character control in games, and for any human/computer interface. AdNav® can replace the mouse, the touchscreen, keyboard up/down keys, and all other navigation devices. AdNav®, by adding the immersive experience to your advertising material, creates a new level of customer engagement.

Creating the illusion

AdNav® requires small head movements to control the interface. The sensitivity can be varied so that smaller or larger head movements are required for any particular navigation function. In detail, if you lean to the left, AdNav® pans to the right. If you lean to the right, AdNav® pans to the left. If you lean forward, AdNav® zooms towards you. If you lean away, AdNav® zooms away from you. At certain settings this gives the exact illusion of a window to the virtual world. At other settings AdNav® becomes a suprisingly intuitive and controllable interface for on-screen navigation.

AdNav®, by measuring the operator's location and calculating their viewpoint, creates the illusion of the screen being a real window into the scene being displayed on the screen. This ingenious method can easily be extended to provide a very natural navigation process that can be used to tour 3D virtual shopping areas, 3D architectural projects, virtual museums, 3D models, 3D landscapes, game environments, and many other applications.

For 2D displays of spreadsheets and other software, for still image manipulation and a host of other applications, AdNav® provides a perfectly natural, easy to use interface.

AdNav®'s application to computer games, in addition to providing the added immersive experience of the 'window into the game's world,' also allows an additional level of control in the games. This relieves the pressure on joysticks and other control mechanisms, already overcrowded with buttons and switches.

Mobile Magic

AdNav® has now also been ported to the symbian 60 OS on the Nokia N series phones where it can be used as the basis for a new genre of mobile fun and games for delivering advertising messages, as a navigation tool for spreadsheets, images and any other document, and as a marvellously intuitive web navigation tool. Video conferencing with the mobile also becomes much easier when AdNav® is loaded on the phone. Any phone equipped with an owner-facing camera can use AdNav®. AdNav® can become a major application for the promotion of 2 camera phones.
