Mobile Memes™

A meme is an idea, a unit of cultural information that propagates from one mind to another, in a way analogous way to the gene, using the various processes common to biological evolution, such as selection, mutation, and so on.

First coined by reknowned scientist and cultural warrior Richard Dawkins in 1976, the concept of the meme is becoming more and more accepted as a useful way of describing many processes. Dawkins himself gave the example of tunes, catchphrases, and clothing fashions.
